How to: Making Coconut Macaroons

Coconut macaroons are a mouthwatering treat that are always a crowd pleaser.  This recipe requires a small amount of ingredients and is fairly easy and quick to make.

What you will need is:
2 2/3 cups of coconut flakes
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

The very first thing I recommend doing is making sure you have all the ingredients and enough of each item. Right after you have everything,  make sure you wash your hands and if you have long hair, secure it back with a hair tie so it is not in your way. After that go ahead and measure out all your ingredients and have everything ready in the correct amount ready for use.

Make sure you use different bowls for different ingredients, and keep your work space clean. After setting everything up, you can then set your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. It is good to do this first so that when you finish, the oven is already hot and ready to cook your delicious macaroons. Once your oven is heating up, grab a cookie sheet and either grease and dust it with flour or use parchment paper. For me, it is easier to use parchment paper, so that is what I decided to do.

That was just the pre work.  Now we will actually get to the fun part. You will need to choose a medium sized bowl and add the coconut, sugar, flour, and salt. Mix that until well combined. Now add the egg whites and the vanilla. The mixture should now look really mushy and slimy; that is exactly how we need it.

The next step is to add the mixture to your cookie sheet. My method for dropping the mixture onto the cookie sheet is to grab a watermelon scooper, or a spoon, and placing two drops of the mixture to make one macaroon.

After you have about twelve macaroons on the cookie sheet, carefully place it in the oven. The amount of time you should leave it in the oven is 20 minutes, or when the edges start to turn light brown. After 20 or so minutes your masterpieces should be done! Make sure you let the coconut macaroons rest on the cookie sheet until they turn firm enough to place on a plate.

And there you go! Delectable macaroons everyone will be begging you for. These also go great with a glass of milk and some chocolate drizzled over it! Enjoy!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello internet friends! My name is Kimberly Rosas and I am a sophomore in high school who very much enjoys spending time baking delicious treats. I started off helping my dad bake all sorts of exciting dishes when I was younger, and baking is now something I do on a regular basis. The kitchen for me is now a way to express myself through food and is a representation of creativity and uniqueness.
Everyone has a different way they like to bake, and here in this blog I will show you mine. I have picked up some tricks from my dad and have tweaked some recipes to make them my own. My hope for this blog is to teach you all how to make certain delicacies, recommend certain brands, and overall share my baking experiences with all of you. I hope this blog strikes you all as interesting and something you want to read. Any suggestions to improve my blog are always welcomed. Thank you for viewing my blog and keep coming back for all things baking!
